Microchip Technology designs ultra-advanced microcontrollers and analog semiconductors for thousands of diverse customer applications worldwide – and is HIRING!
Working out of the Burnaby BC offices, headquarters are in Chandler, Arizona with 20,000 employees spanning North America, Europe, and South Asia, with a unique, welcoming, culture.
Guided by the fundamental values of; Customers Are Our Focus; Continuous Improvement is Essential; Employees Are Our Greatest Strength, has resulted in employee retention measured in decades.
Applications include 5G, IoT, self-driving vehicles, and leading datacenter storage technology for the likes of Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Oh, and NASA chose Microchip to develop their Next Gen Space Flight Processor.
Excited to present a rare opportunity for a Manager of Applications Engineering – PCIe Storage Domain
What you get to do
- Be the prime interface for Tier 1 storage customers to define requirements and manage deliverables from initial bring-up to full production.
- Lead customer interactions to identify and determine system level solutions using Microchip’s products portfolio
- Develop customer level documentation and material inclusive of providing training to both customers and internal support teams
- Support and maintain the software & firmware of processor based storage ICs and reference designs
- Mentor junior engineers
What you need to succeed
- Absolute “Expertise” in PCIe hardware or software (both would be nice)
- Background in developing software (C / C++) with emphasis on debugging multi-threaded architectures and writing test scripts
- Experience working with sales and marketing teams
If you know PCIe and storage, you understand what is required for this role. Likely no engineer “too senior” as Total Comp is “ASIC competitive” – with an estimated total comp of ~ $200K+ – and techies will appreciate Microchip’s application of CXL and having already developed a roadmap for Gen 6.
Their “hybrid model” consists of on site Mon & Tue and then one other day of your choosing. Flex time is fine and at one’s discretion. Remuneration and benefits will not be of issue, and though every place claims same, the people at Microchip ARE very nice. Truth.
