Sales Engineer – IoT Location Solutions

Fathom™ is a new business unit of Rx Networks, a world-leader in location technology.

With the advances and growth of the IoT – Internet Of Things – the space will soon dwarf smartphone volumes.  Fathom has the technology to make IoT location-aware well delivering real time data.

Fathom is launching a line of self-locating IoT devices, starting with the Fathom Hub™, a device that helps manage networks of Bluetooth beacons and gather data on the behavior of people carrying Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones, fitness bands, and other wearables.

Complementing the Fathom Hub is Fathom Control™, a portal for managing and alerting of changes or activities within a customer’s network of beacons, and the Fathom API™, a service that provides access to the data that drives powerful analytics and business intelligence.

Fathom will revolutionize retail, healthcare, and other industries with location awareness.

Fathom has an exciting opening for a Sales Engineer to assist our customers in deploying Fathom products and services. As the main technical contact for our clients, you will work closely with Fathom’s sales team to ensure customer satisfaction through all stages: from pre-sale planning;  implementation, and post-sales support. This includes  advising our engineering and marketing teams on features and improvements to the product, and rolling-up your sleeves to assist with client integrations including the analysis of the client’s code to connect to our API.

We expect that during our first year of shipping Fathom products, a significant number of short travel trips will be required, particularly to the US, UK and Europe. Travel will remain an ongoing requirement of the role, but decreasing as we grow our business and teams.

The “key” qualifiers to succeed in this new role consist of:

  • 2 + years of developing software using any of: C, C#, Java, Javascript, Node.js, Python, REST API
  • At a minimum, 1 year or more of: Sales engineering, Field application Engineering, or Direct Customer Support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship skills as this is a customer facing position.
  • A desire and personality to be the interface between Customers and the Development team
